A collaboration between LightArt and Armstrong World Industries that brings architectural lighting into the ceiling design process.

Architectural lighting can sometimes feel like an afterthought in ceiling design. While general ambient lighting gets planned early, the fixtures that define how a space looks and feels often get retrofitted later — panels get cut, design intent gets compromised, and installation becomes a coordination nightmare.

Armstrong Integrated Lighting solves this.

In partnership with Armstrong World Industries, LightArt has developed the first functional architectural lighting system engineered specifically for WoodWorks® ceilings — delivering high-performance illumination that integrates seamlessly with the ceiling plane from specification through installation.

Lighting That's Part of the Architecture

Armstrong Integrated Lighting isn't decorative accent lighting. It's the primary functional lighting for your space — designed to integrate directly with WoodWorks® ceiling systems:

  • WoodWorks Grille Forte Veneered Panels
  • WoodWorks Grille Forte Solid Panels
  • WoodWorks Grille Classic Solid Panels
  • WoodWorks Linear Veneered Open Ceilings

Rather than treating architectural lighting as something to add later, this system allows you to specify lighting and ceilings together from day one — delivering consistent, high-quality illumination while preserving the integrity of the ceiling design.

Proprietary Clip-In Mounting

We developed a mounting system that changes installation. Fixtures attach directly to Armstrong's wood panels using proprietary clip-in brackets — no panel cutting, no grid modifications, no yokes required.

Below-Plenum Integration

Fixtures mount below the plenum and fit cleanly within the wood ceiling plane. Refined apertures are sized to match both Grille and Linear Open applications, creating a minimal aesthetic that complements the warmth of wood while delivering functional illumination throughout the space.

Precise Alignment

Even lighting runs align with ceiling geometry, reinforcing the architectural rhythm. The result is a cohesive ceiling plane where functional lighting enhances rather than interrupts the design.

Unified System

Specify architectural lighting and ceilings as one integrated system. One source. One submittal. One installation timeline. No coordination between multiple manufacturers.

Streamlined Installation

Fixtures clip into place as panels go up — eliminating trade coordination delays and reducing installation time. No field modifications. No change orders.

Comprehensive Warranty

A single 5-year warranty covers the entire integrated system — ceiling panels and lighting fixtures together. No gaps. No manufacturer finger-pointing.

Why Integration Matters

When architectural lighting is planned as part of the ceiling system rather than added later, everyone wins:

Architects & Designers: Design intent preserved, specification simplified
Contractors: Faster installation, reduced coordination, fewer callbacks
Building Owners: Single warranty, unified maintenance, proven performance

This is what happens when two industry leaders solve a real problem: functional lighting that works with the architecture, not against it.
