Domestic Violence Intervention Program Emergency Shelter
LightArt worked with Streamline Architects to create a vibrant and playful lighting solution for the Domestic Violence Intervention Program’s (DVIP) shelter and child nursery in Iowa City. This collaborative project aimed to transform the children's space into a welcoming, safe, and creative environment where young minds could thrive.
The design challenge was to create a custom fixture that resonated with children and evoked feelings of joy and comfort. Inspired by the beloved story The Very Hungry Caterpillar, LightArt’s design team brought the iconic character to life through lighting. The resulting fixture, with its segmented body and vivid hues, mirrors the whimsical nature of the caterpillar, making it a perfect fit for the nursery space.
